The good news is there are simple ways you can turn the tide for good―and for the good of your dog. You'll discover:

I gave up giving my dog "purchased dog food after getting so many bugs in the bags". I used this book to make her food and she has actually been healthier since. Her Vet says she is very healthy for a senior dog. Her coat got blacker and her energy is better.

I have a lovely dog who started rapidly gaining weight after we had her spayed. Although I didn't do everything suggested in the book, it did help me gain knowledge about dogs and weight loss. My dog eventually lost 8 pounds. What I like about this book is that the author makes references (like in an academic paper) to veterinary, medical or scientific studies instead of just making statements without any backup to claims.

A bit too in depth in places, but overall it was a good, interesting read. It covers the problems with commercial dog food, and has several recipes for homemade, healthy dog food and treats. I found it very interesting.

An insight to the dog food world for those of us concerned as much about our dog's health as we are our own. Even if your dog isn't overweight, you will gain valuable information from this book.

Only wish I Dr. Ernie could be my doggie's vet! Love his research, his common sense approach, his philosophy on life and his love for man's best friends. I have found him to be my #1 resource for pet care. A great guide for feeding our pets well so they will live a long, healthy life. From vicky of vickyandjencom
