This is a great series with wonderful pictures, descriptions, and explanations of simple ways to create, practice and understand concepts using hands-on creations. Most items can be found around the house! Families and teachers would benefit from owning the entire series "Make it work!"!

If you are a science teacher, these are some great demonstrations that can be used in class. I teach at the secondary level and find that my students enjoy seeing how boats work just as much as I am sure that the younger ones do. With short descriptions of how to build the boats, prep time making them at a minimum, and the use of easy to find materials by the author, its a good book.

This is a great book. It has lots of neat science projects for you to do. One of them is making a steam boat. It is easy and inexpensive to make all the experiments. It doesn't just tell you how to build it, it explains how to run it also. In the sailboat experiment , it even explains how to sail it. So, if you like to make things that work from everyday materials, this book is for you.
